About Us

Welcome to our wonderful world of “The Cuckoos Garden” where we build handmade, hand crafted Bird Houses for our visiting feathered friends and you our valued customer.

The Cuckoos Garden was founded in Ireland in 2012 by Raymond Kenny who lives in Craughwell, Co. Galway and like most people shares a great love for nature, and his environment. Raymond has practiced as an Architect for over 30 Years, where creating a comfortable, sustainable and shared environment is part of everyday thinking.

It is easy to see that designing and manufacturing Birdhouses, Bird tables etc is not a departure for Raymond but an extension of his life’s long love of the design and Building for all of our inhabitants. Raymond is an active member of the local Tidy town committee in Craughwell where like most communities all over Ireland, caring for our homes, villages and our environment is foremost in his minds.

As Birds in their many species visit and live our gardens throughout the year, Raymond has designed and hand crafted a range of waterproof, maintenance free Bird Houses, Bird tables requiring no painting and are both contemporary and traditional, reflecting the requests of you the customer and the Birds our guests.

The Cuckoos Garden received runner up position in the prestigious Brett Martin 2016 iAwards for its innovative design, against stiff opposition from a vast array of entries ranging from medium to corporate size industries, across Ireland  and the United Kingdom.  The Cuckoos Garden was praised for its innovative designs, colourful and maintenance free Birdhouses and bringing Birdhouse and Nesting Box design into the 21st Century.

The garden birds seem will put on a display when visiting your new birdhouse as they pop in and out of the door and look out through windows, while their comrades feed on the many delights provides by their hosts. Sit back with neighbours and friends with a glass of your favourite tipple and enjoy your feathered friends on display.

Raymond welcomes any additional advice, comments and ideas you may have to offer, comments can be sent to info@cuckoosgarden.com and will be taken into active consideration for future designs.

Enjoy the therapeutic benefits of birdwatching

Spending time around nature can be a great way to combat stress. Birdwatching can be a very meditative activity, providing an opportunity to spend a time in a quiet space in your garden without any distractions.

I don’t feed the birds because they need me; I feed the birds because I need them.
